Sammamish Independent to host city council election forum on Oct. 6
The Sammamish Independent would like to invite the entire Sammamish community to attend an online candidate forum for the upcoming November city council elections. The forum will be broadcast live through Facebook on Wednesday, October 6, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
With four out of the seven seats up for grabs, the outcome of this election could determine the direction of our city for many years. As Sammamish’s only community newspaper, we are honored to host the candidates for a candid and wide-ranging discussion of the top issues facing our city, and give the community an opportunity to get to know the candidates and their viewpoints.
To RSVP, please go to event page and indicate that you will be “going” to the event.
Community members can also submit questions for consideration here: https://forms.gle/9KAzHGqc41zZ7Qyb6
All eight candidates have been invited to participate in the forum. Four candidates have confirmed their participation so far:
Amy Lam
Kali Clark
Nazir Harb Michel
Karen Howe
Our forum will be moderated by city hall reporters Medhya Goel and Maria Langworthy, as well as by executive editor Lin Yang.
This event has been made possible with support from the Kiwanis Club of Sammamish.
