Skyline brings home second conference win against Issaquah
On Friday night, the Skyline Spartans delivered its second win of the season against the Issaquah Eagles with a score of 27-7.
In the first quarter, Skyline took the early lead with a field goal. Before the quarter was over, the Spartans added another touchdown and extra point to end the quarter 10-0.
Issaquah came out fighting in the second quarter, adding 7 points and their only touchdown of the game to bring the Eagles within 3 points, their closest margin of the night. But the Spartans, refusing to settle for a quarter without gain, managed another 3-point field goal to end the half at 13-7, Skyline.
The third quarter appeared to have both teams at a stalemate until the Spartans managed to break through the Eagle defense once again to add another touchdown to the board.
Refusing to have a scoreless quarter, the Spartans would once again add another touchdown in the final quarter of the game. The Spartans brought home a 27-7 victory to end the night.
The Spartans (2-3) will face the undefeated Eastlake Wolves (5-0) on Friday, October 8 at home at 7:00 p.m.
