Sammamish Independent to host city council election forum on Oct. 16

The Sammamish Independent would like to invite the entire Sammamish community to attend an online candidate forum for the upcoming November city council elections. The forum will be broadcast live through Facebook on Monday, October 16, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Four out of the seven seats will be contested during this election. As Sammamish’s only community newspaper, we are honored to host the candidates for a candid and wide-ranging discussion of the top issues facing our city, and give the community an opportunity to get to know the candidates and their viewpoints.

All eight candidates were invited to participate in the forum. The following six candidates have confirmed their attendance:

Our forum will be moderated by editor in chief Ananya Gupta (Skyline High School ’24) and city hall editor Hongning Wang (Eastlake High School ’25).
