Moore Brothers expand their Sammamish location to meet demand

For more than 20 years, Moore Brothers Music has been a prominent name in the Sammamish community, providing music classes and instruments to anyone who wants to learn and play music.

To keep up with a growing interest in music lessons, Moore Brothers is now expanding their location by adding an adjacent retail space that was previously vacant. Three rooms have already been added, and two more will be added by the summer of 2025. These rooms will be used to make space for teachers and students in private lessons.

Scott and Troy Moore started this music store in Sammamish in August 2004 after seeing the success of Troy’s private lesson business. Both brothers have grown up around music, with Troy teaching guitar for over a decade and Scott playing drums in many groups.

“We are one of the only music stores in the area, so we have a lot of demand coming to us for all things music,” Scott Moore said.

They offer online lessons for $40 per session, and in-person lessons for $43 per session. Drop-in options are also available at $46 per session.

Moore said he has seen an increase in students participating in school bands, which started shortly after the pandemic. Moore Brothers’ music lessons often serve to support and facilitate these students’ growth.

“Our teachers are great at helping students with their music from school,” Moore said.  “We have a very successful learning process that improves musicianship in all of our students.”

The interest to learn music has also risen among other age groups.

“Many of our customers are retired and have the free time to continue learning their instruments after stopping for several years,” Moore said.

Moore said the renovations will not impact any current student lessons. 

“We always tried to construct outside of office hours. We only had one time during the very beginning when we were constructing in the middle of the day,” Moore said.

Currently, the business operates as normal during open hours.
