Sammamish Independent founder Lin Yang steps down to run for City Council

Today, I announced that I am running for Sammamish City Council to serve my hometown.  

To ensure the Sammamish Independent remains an independent source of news, I am stepping down from its board of directors, and relinquishing my editorial duties, effective immediately. 

This newspaper has played a critical role in filling the information gap in our community. In the past, the Sammamish Independent has offered coverage to every candidate, no matter what their policies or partisan-leanings are. 

Please continue to support the youth reporters and volunteers as they work tirelessly to bring fact-based news to our community.
