Eastlake Wolves eliminated from post-season play after a 52-7 loss to the Puyallup Vikings.
On Friday, Nov. 14 the Eastlake Wolves suffered a 52-7 loss against the top ranked team in the state, the Puyallup Vikings.
The Wolves entered the stadium with high hopes for the post-season but the Vikings showed no mercy. Midway through the first quarter, J’Isaiah Mitchell pulled in a pass and crossed into the end zone for Puyallup’s first touchdown of the night and a 7-0 lead.
Before the first quarter ended, Lawson Looker carried the ball through the dogpile and into the end zone for a rushing touchdown for the Vikings and a 14-0 advantage.
Continuing the momentum into the second quarter, a long bomb from Brayden Paulino to Looker gave the wide receiver his second touchdown of the game. Puyallup lengthened their lead, 21-0.
The rout continued when William Lorenz slipped past the Eastlake defense for another Viking touchdown, 29-0. Adding insult to injury, Puyallup contributed another two points with a successful 2-point conversion for a score of 31-0.
Unwilling to back off, the Vikings added one more touchdown to the board, 38-0, before the half-time break when Paulino managed to advance a quarterback keeper and slide into the end zone for Puyallup.
Despite the deficit, the Wolves returned to the field energized for the second half. Unfortunately for Eastlake, they could not stop the Puyallup freight train and Looker cut through the field again to make it 45-0 for the Vikings.
Before the third quarter ended, Cody McFadden caught another long bomb in the corner of the end zone for Puyallup for a score of 52-0.
Eastlake, hoping to avoid a scoreless game, managed one touchdown on a pass to Gideon Birchfield who brushed by a Viking defender to get the ball over the goal line and conclude the game with a 52-7 Eastlake loss, ending the Wolves’ 2025 season.
The Puyallup Vikings will play the Skyline Spartans on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.
