Eastlake Boys’ Basketball dominates Juanita, 76-56
On Friday, January 9, the Wolves shut down the Raven offense and dominated behind the 3-point arc, ending in a 76-56 victory for Eastlake.
Eastlake set the tone early with a balance of strong defensive pressure and aggressive offensive play. Kaylen Moore opened the game for Juanita attacking with a 2-pointer to start the ball rolling. However, the Wolves quickly responded as Myles Thompson converted a turnover to points, and Rutal Tarambale knocked down an early three. Eastlake’s quick ball movement and control in the paint pushed the Wolves ahead, 19–6, to end the first quarter.
Juanita found a rhythm in the second quarter, led by Connor Cook, who repeatedly went to the basket and the free-throw line. Eastlake answered with perimeter shooting from Rohan Kalra and Nathan D’Souza, while Thompson and Jackson Boulter continued to finish inside. The Wolves had extended their lead to 39–22 when the halftime buzzer rang.
The Ravens showed urgency coming out of the break as Mohannad Benmaatoug scored multiple times in the paint and Quincy Parsadmehr added a 3-point bucket, trying to close the gap as fast as possible. Eastlake adjusted defensively, relying on interior scoring from Cameron Hanhart and Gabriel Prock to maintain control and close the third quarter with a 52–35 lead.
Juanita continued to fight despite the deficit in the fourth quarter, as Parsadmehr connected behind the 3-point line and Kaylen Moore added a basket inside. Eastlake stayed consistent, however, with buckets from Thompson and Boulter while Payton Goldie added from the free-throw line to secure the 76–56 win.
The Eastlake Wolves will play the Sammamish Redhawks on Friday, Jan. 16 at 8:30 p.m. at Eastlake High School.
