Sammamish Farmers Market opens for 2026
On May 6, the Sammamish Farmers Market held a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the beginning of the 2026 season. The market will run every Wednesday at Sammamish Commons from 4 to 8 p.m. from May through September, featuring a rotation of vendors and entertainment to support small businesses.
The Sammamish Farmers Market began in 2008 under the management of the Chamber of Commerce with the City of Sammamish as one of its title sponsors. It has since grown, with the 2026 season featuring over 60 vendors, along with support from 24 sponsors.
The market is an important way for the Chamber of Commerce to further its goal of supporting small businesses. Each Wednesday typically features six food trucks and carts, and an assortment of produce and handmade goods vendors. The vendors are often local to the Sammamish-Issaquah area, but they also come from cities across Washington.
Pam Saito owns Five Hooks Seafood and has been the market manager for several years. She said the farmers market is important for small business owners because they can connect with hundreds of new people walking by their booth that they normally would never meet.
Several special event days will highlight the FIFA World Cup, youth entrepreneurship, and more. The first special event will occur on May 20 with the Emerging Entrepreneurs Youth Business Day, where youth between the ages of 11 and 17 can set up booths to sell handmade items and other products. The farmers market continues its support of young entrepreneurship on July 1 with the Children’s Business Fair for ages 7 to 11.
One of the largest market events will occur on June 17, as Sammamish celebrates the region’s hosting of six World Cup matches. The event is sponsored by the YMCA and Sammamish FC, a local semi-professional soccer team. A used soccer gear drive will provide an opportunity for community members to donate their old equipment. Other soccer-themed entertainment and youth competitions are also being planned. Organizers will offer specially-designed Sammamish soccer scarves for sale starting in June.
The World Cup event day will be followed by a Pride event hosted by the City of Sammamish on June 24, starting at 5:30 p.m. Pride Day will feature live music and inspirational speakers to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Over the summer, the market will feature other events dedicated to local nonprofits, health and wellness, and multicultural appreciation.
The 2026 market will also continue the Power of Produce (POP) program, where kids ages 4 to 10 can get a $2 voucher for a fruit or vegetable of their choice. Participation in the program increased from 300 to 800 kids between 2024 and 2025. Market organizers hope this program continues to encourage more children in Sammamish to eat healthy.
“We have such a diverse demographic of different cultures [in Sammamish], so this [farmers market] brings everyone together in one place. They can sit in the grass, listen to music, and meet new people,” Chamber CEO Julie Honn said.
