Skyline football head coach suspended, investigation pending
Coach Peyton Pelluer, head coach of the Skyline Spartan varsity football team, was temporarily suspended. A pending district investigation caused him to miss the Spartan’s game on Friday, Oct. 17, where the team faced off the Woodinville Falcons at the Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell.
Skyline Principal, Keith Hennig, informed Spartan families about the investigation with an email announcement. In his message, he noted that assistant coaches are expected to fill all coaching responsibilities until the matter can be resolved.

Skyline’s Principal Keith Hennig notified all students of Pelluer’s suspension on Oct. 18.
Despite the letter from the Skyline principal, the coaching staff did not seem to agree with the course of action, publicly airing out their concerns on Instagram over the weekend. Coach Gino Simone respectfully requested the reinstatement of Coach Pelluer, claiming his removal will jeopardize the entire 2025 football season for the Spartans. So far, the Spartans hold a 5-2 record, and are 12th in the Division 4A rankings.

With the head coach removed, and with an investigation still unresolved, the fate of the rest of the season remains uncertain for the Spartans at this time.
The Sammamish Independent reached out to the Skyline football coaching team, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
